Svaztha Ayurveda Retreat sits amidst 10 acres of pristine greenery and herbal garden. Built with natural and rare granite stones and designed using traditional Kerala architecture, the resort offers 25 rooms, cottages and other residential facilities. 
Svaztha Ayurveda Retreat is one of the front runners in providing authentic Kerala Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment and owes its success and credibility to a strong foundation – the eight generations of physicians. The retreat is run by the Chempenkulam Ayurveda Hospital, started in 1964 to provide traditional Ayurveda care and treatment.

With eight generations of physicians’ legacy and years of experience in the field of Ayurveda treatment the retreat provides several treatments packages like SvastaKalpa, LavanyaKalpa ArogyaKalpa ete are employed for the same without any modifications from the traditional methods.

In the olden days, Chempenkulam Ayyappan Vaidya had prepared the medicines for the use of royal and aristocratic families. He used to make it with valuable and rare medicines. Now the same kind of medicines are made without actually losing any of its traditional qualities.
In the preparation of medicines, Chempenkula adopts special and traditional methods.

• Medicines are prepared in the traditional and special metal vessel- 'panchaloha' pathra (made of gold, silver, copper, iron, and brass).
• Only prescribed types of fire woods are used.
• Organic sesame is bought directly from the farmers, and the oil is extracted in wooden grinders – as it was in olden days.
• The herbals are collected from own garden and from the heart of Periyar Tiger Reserve Forest by the tribal.
